My Story

Seasonal fresh flowers growing in the field

I’m a trained florist, have worked in floristry for over twenty years and I run Hilltop Garden Flowers.

As a child, I loved wandering around the garden with Mum and Nain (Welsh for grandmother), admiring the array of plants, especially Nain’s gorgeous roses with their beautiful scent, snipping stems as we went along to make flower arrangements.

I studied floristry at college and worked in retail floristry for several years before making the decision to start growing my own flowers. I grow seasonal flowers on a small, artistan scale in my garden and field on a hilltop in north Wales.

Here, flowers are grown in tune with the seasons, keeping the environment and wildlife at the forefront of what I do. I strive to be as sustainable as I can and avoid using floral foam and single use plastics. Where possible I prefer to use recycled and compostable materials and mechanics.

I’m Carolyn, born and bred here in beautiful North Wales.
